Project Description
The Pioneer Race
We are raising funds for the Neurological Foundation of NZ to fund research into Neurological disease . 1 in 5 NZ’rs will suffer from this at some stage in their life time. For us here at Dempsey Wood we are supporting one of employees target in raising $100,000. Mark is a senior estimator here and lives with the disease everyday. He has been blind for 10 years and lost significant mobility in his legs. He is challenging himself to swim the harbour next year as his challenge to raise funds.
Tomorrow 560 riders begin an epic six-day journey through New Zealand's Southern Alps. They will ride as a team of two, clocking up 424km of riding, with 15,124m of climbing. The stunning scenery, the brutal nature of the challenge and the camaraderie that will develop amongst the riders is what makes #ThePioneer a life-changing and bucket list experience. Leave your messages of support for the riders below!
